Wherever you are in life, my encouragement to you today is figure out what inspires you and do it often!!!

For me, in my line of work of making jewelry, going to the beach to find fresh pieces of sea glass and shells keeps me super inspired to create!!! I don’t just see a broken piece of glass, but I just imagine how beautiful that piece of sea glass could look as a ring or how another piece could be perfect for a necklace!!

So thankful that I have a hubby that always helps me stay inspired by helping me keep my shell bag nice and full 🫶🏽🐚!!

I had the best birthday yesterday doing what I love most…spending time at home with these guys!! Out of everything in the world, I love, and find so much joy in being a wife and mom! Ahahahaha, I think from the time I was a little girl, that was my life goal - to have an incredible marriage and family and without hesitation, I can definitely say, God blessed me with that!!

Probably my favorite thing we do for all of our birthdays is our “Birthday Blessing” and our handmade cards!! We usually do the blessing during dinner and then give our cards. Each person goes around the table and shares something they love and appreciate about you, and then the next person goes… and it keeps going around until everyone’s ready for dessert 😜

We’ve been doing this for years, so when “they” (Kalei 😂) was little, things like “I like that you’re so nice to me”…was shared and we’d have to kinda help her think of more specific things 😂 But last night, I was sooo incredibly proud, amazed and blown away with how my family was able to put into words their hearts of love and appreciation toward me!! They definitely gave me the best birthday ever 🥳😭🥰😍

So excited to share this fun transformation project we’ve been working on for our church!

For a few months, my husband and I would walk by an area at our church that was blocked off…cause it was a real eyesore 😂 BUT through all the mess, we saw how it could potentially be the best hospitality area and could help people feel really welcomed and build community with one another!

We asked our pastors about the area and found out a design company had given amazing future plans for it, but financially, it probably couldn’t begin until years down the road. The more we thought about what it would take to fully transform that space from our perspective, we realized it could be done for a fraction of the cost. This meant it could happen now, instead of years down the road!!

We shared our idea and told them if they liked it, we could do it for them. A few weeks later, they gave us the green light to make it happen!

SO, for about the past month and a half, we’ve been on a mission!!! Every day that we weren’t making jewelry, we’d make the hour drive to town and work all day on each part of this project! It was pretty incredible to see how everything came together by the end of each day! Even the things that didn’t go quite as planned actually ended up leading us to something better…like all the furniture!!!

When we started, I had no idea the task we were about to take on…but about 200 hours later…I’m SOOOO happy we did…and relieved it’s over! 😂😂 It’s funny because by trade, Carl was a pastor forever and I’ve been a jewelry-maker for the past decade. So this is something we both wouldn’t normally invest this much time in, but God always works in mysterious ways!

When I look at this process, I’m reminded at what God’s done in both of our lives! When I think about the “before and after” of what life has looked like for each of us, I can’t help but be so incredibly thankful for the transformation! Although, it definitely didn’t happen over night. It’s been a long, and not always easy process, but God has been with us every single step of the way!! I can say without any hesitation, that we have witnessed His faithfulness firsthand!! 😭

A few months ago, Kielan had a 6 week summer surf trip planned, so we decided to give Kalei something to look forward to also!! We had surprise boarding passes + Disneyland tickets waiting for Kalei at the post office and she couldn’t believe it!!! We went home, made an 81 day birthday countdown calendar and her excitement began!!!

And let me tell you…our 17 hour…7am-12am Disneyland day was better than we could have ever asked for!!! She definitely loved every minute we were there…from taking pictures with every character, trying all kinds of yummy foods and riding 23 rides…5 of them 2-3 times!! (Well, I was scared on some so the 2 thrill seekers jumped on without me 🫣) It was incredible cause we either walked right on, or stood in line for less than 20 minutes for all rides (besides one 30 minute wait)!!! And of course, her and Carl’s favorite was the Incredicoaster 🫣🤗🤩

I think this double digit birthday celebration is one we’ll never forget!! And we still have one more week of California fun before heading back home 🤗 So thankful to be able to experience Disneyland through the eyes of our super excited and thankful little 10 year old!!

When I got married, I not only gained the most amazing husband, but my kids quickly became OUR kids and they gained the best bonus dad ever!!! I can’t tell you how incredibly thankful I am that Kielan and Kalei immediately opened their hearts to Carl and that Carl has always treated them like his own and that he’s become such an important person to them both!! 🥰
